Congratulations to Barry Cibich on being awarded the Hockey Australia Award of Merit!
Barry’s outstanding playing career, including representing Australia and winning bronze at the 1978 World Cup, is matched by his significant contribution to coaching and player development. His coaching journey has included the Australian Institute of Sport, the Kookaburras and international appointments in Scotland. At Adelaide University Hockey Club, Barry coached our Premier League Women’s team between 2009 and 2018 and, in 2011, was recognised as Hockey SA’s Margaret McKenzie Award – Premier League Women’s Coach of the Year. We are incredibly proud of Barry and his lasting contribution to hockey, both at Adelaide University Hockey Club and beyond.
